Mission

  1. To educate and train social welfare and public health practitioners to lead change for social justice.

  2. To work collaboratively with communities to design, implement and evaluate interventions that alleviate community-defined problems in health and social welfare.


Objectives

  1. Collaborate with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to design streamlined, integrated, outcomes-focused evaluation

  2. Facilitate the development of creative, sustainable, effective, efficient and community-driven solutions to everyday problems

  3. Leverage and maximize community resources to achieve community-identified outcomes

  4. Motivate, inspire and mobilize communities to work together on self-identified issues

  1. More than 20 years of providing technical assistance to government and non-government organizations focused on health and social welfare

  2. 15+ years of human resource development experience including 10 years as a professor of social work at the undergraduate and graduate levels

  3. Specialist in Maternal and Child Health, HIV/AIDS, social welfare practice/policy, bipolar disorder, group work; and, community development

  4. Studied social welfare in Canada, USA, Belgium, Belize and UK

  5. Collaborated with community-based and government programs in USA, Uganda, Canada, Belize, Kenya and Jamaica

  6. Educated, engaged, inspired and entertained international audiences through her lectures and presentations

  7. Highly effective trainer

  8. Widely published author of academic articles, op/eds, book chapters and an upcoming book on bipolar disorder

  9. Producer and host of campus radio show focusing on social policy
